Past Events

A physics competition was held in a special way covering the Nuwara Eliya district, with the leadership of a student who wrote the 2024 Higher Level Examination and the help of students who wrote the 2025 Examination. The competition, which included an exam and a well-structured debate, was conducted in a modern and refined manner. A total of 176 students participated. However, the participation of our college students was low due to the constraints imposed by private educational institutions. As a result, most of the victories went to Talawakelle School. Our college students have achieved outside what they could not accomplish within their academic environment. If they had been given more opportunities, they could have performed even better. The Chief Guest for the event was the Director of Education, along with SDC, PPA, and school principals. If students are given opportunities, they can conquer the world. Given the right platform, they will excel in leadership, sports, debate, innovation, and many other areas. Private educational institutions, where students pay for education, should also support and nurture these talents instead of suppressing them. I humbly request that students’ talents be recognized and encouraged.
